[ Well, Nonon was having a lot of ups and down in hers, but when she calls Myriam back, she's in a LOT better mood... ]
I haven't really had a lot of time to write the column with the stupid shit that's been happening, but I think I'll get something to you. You sure anyone's even going to be reading it? Everybody's going to be wanting to read about some kind of explanation for all those glitches, beyond the bullshit excuses CERES gave us! Why were we able to just get pulled into ViViD at all like that?! What were those ghost things?!
[ Okay, so her good mood hasn't come out yet, just wait for it. ]
I asked Athena about the CEO. She said she wasn't sure if she was lying, and I'm working with a detective friend of mine to try to figure out more about who might have killed that old CEO guy.
I'm not rude enough to leave a voicemail in my inbox without replying in someway.
[ Yes she is, but she doesn't need Myriam to know that. ]
That seems like a pretty bold statement to make, are you sure you can promise that to your readership? Rain or shine, sleet or snow, apocalypse or power outage?
She said she needs to speak to the CEO in person, to get a better idea. Apparently she's like a human lie detector, but it's not very good over the network.
Don't even try it. She doesn't like to be in the spotlight, and I'm sure she has her reasons. [ Kyouko hasn't even told Nonon about any of her cases in detail, so there's no way she'd tell the newspaper. ]
Because it's so true, it just overwhelmed you? Sss, sss, sss.
Well... Because it was a law school! Obviously! And I planned to be a legal journalist. Though, one never knows. If it didn't work out, I figured I could always fall back on judging...
It's up to you! [Well, that was all the confirmation she needed. Nonon and Ryuko: an item? Or maybe someone else...]
Not even a little bit. [ Double rolling of eyes. ]
...I'm pretty sure being a judge isn't a fall back plan.
I have some pretty good inspiration this week, I'll be sure to make it full of impact. [ If Myriam just asked... Nonon would tell her. She already told Ryuko that she doesn't care who knows after all. ]

Sss, sss, sss! What a silly question! Of course they will! The newspaper always comes out, no matter what happens.
--...If I knew that, so would everyone else! We're working on it. ...no, really!
Was that Athena's professional opinion? Hm... maybe she's operating on a different psychological wavelength than the rest of everyone else...
Detective friend? ...Who's that? Does this detective friend do anything newsworthy ever?

I've seen her do it. It's not so much lie detecting as detecting emotions that shouldn't be there... I think. ...So I guess it is like lie detecting.
Well inform this "detective friend" that I also guarantee anonymity if she does find out anything!

[ She calls 'em like she sees 'em. ]
Are you two friends? [ Did she already ask that? Who knows, Nonon is asking anyway. ]
I already did. If she finds information about it we already planned to go to you. Since we know you aren't owned by CERES.

...what? Me and Athena? I told you, we're both from Los Angeles, 2027! We met at Themis Legal Academy, though Athena was already a lawyer by then.
Aww... thanks Nonon! I think that might be the nicest thing you've ever said about me.

Right. I forgot everyone I'm surrounded by is a Lawyer.
[ Seriously, she keeps meeting more! ]
Well don't get used to it! [ Tsun, tsun. ] But if we find something out about CERES then the newspaper is the obvious play to go.

Nah. I'm not a lawyer. I was a senior in the judge course!
Suuure thing! By the way, what topic are you planning for your music column this week? Something romantic again, maybe?
no subject
You were? Why the hell weren't you getting a journalism degree?
[ That question though makes her stop. And then answer with a serious, strangely genuine tone. ] ...Yeah, I guess it probably will be.
